March Fitness Challenge - "Plank You Very Much"
March Fitness Challenge - "Plank You Very Much" March- We continue our monthly fitness challenges! What better way to kick it off than everyone's favorite static exercise, the plank. Whatever your fitness level is, let's spend the month committed to developing your core strength. Core strength is vital for stabilizing the spine. This stability is crucial for overall body support during various activities, leading to better balance and coordination and a reduced risk of injury. Here's how the challenge works; Between March 1st and March 7th ask any employee of the fitness center to pull out their stopwatch and time your plank. The Plank must be done on your feet. There is no regulation regarding how close together or far apart your feet need to be. You can either be on your hands or your forearms. The clock starts when your knees, hips, stomach and chest come off the ground into a plank. The clock stops when your knees, hips, stomach or chest come back to the ground. Spend the month of March focusing on your core! Hire one of our trainers, come to one of our classes or just practice at home. We are always happy to give you core strengthening tips. Between March 23rd and March 31st ask any employee of the fitness center to time your plank again. The member with the largest improvement on time between their first and last plank will win a great prize! $100 club credit to 2 winners The focus here is core development. Sure, winning the challenge and earning bragging rights are great rewards, but creating a sense of confidence in yourself is always a win. Bring questions, showoff your commitment to your wellness and cheer your fellow gym-goers on as we enter this month's challenge. We look forward to seeing you in the gym!
